A proxy is a program that interpose itself between a client and a server, sending requests and responses between them. The client connects to the proxy instead of the server, and sends requests. Instead, the proxy connects to the server and forward the request from the client, receives the response and forwards it to the client. Connecting with a proxyserver on the Internet allows you to have the IP address of the proxy, so you can assume another identity who is placed in the same or in a different place to where you are. That's to say you can access to sites that your country or ISP blocks, you can have total protection against hacker attacks, and your privacy is guaranteed. |

.A Open your browser to access a website (where you're banned or where your IP range is not accepted). |

| .B Youre router, connected via ADSL to your Provider, forward the request. | |
| .C Your provider checks if the site is in a BlackList or reliable, it proceed with the submission of the request via router to reach the final destination. | |
| .F If your Provider or the site you've visited blocks the communication between you, the result is that the final server knows who you are, where you are and it can blocks you. | |
| If you want to be in another country or if yiu want to change your identity on the internet, you have to use a Proxy. In this case, your PC sends requests directly to the proxy and the proxy redirects them to the site (or server) you want access. | |
